Our trusted news sources have repeatedly and deliberately misled us about something Trump said.
It’s unacceptable.
Claim:
Trump called John McCain a loser because McCain was captured and was a prisoner of war for 5 years.
Verdict:
False
Actual truth:
Trump called McCain a loser because McCain lost the election to Obama in 2008. Trump actually campaigned for McCain and raised money for him.
Proof:
This is the interview where this came up.
“I supported him for president. I raised a million dollars for him. …but you know he lost so I never liked him as much after that because I don’t like losers”.
What was Trump Reacting To?
Because McCain called Trump and his supporter “a lot of crazies” in 2015.
If you engage with dirt, then you should expect to get dirt back. And this was Trump’s street fighter way of getting back.
“…Frank let me get to it. He hit me…. He’s a war hero cuz he was captured..….okay, you can have that…..Perhaps he’s a war hero. But right now he said some very bad things about a lot of people so …..”
Tit for Tat:
John McCain attacked Trump and called him names. Trump called him names back.
What is not acceptable is our so called media sources and journalists lying about it for political benefit.
